Updates on the house

I just wanted to update everybody (as promised) when we got some news about the house. Today I had just fallen asleep at 9am (I worked last night) and our realtor called. He said that we had a showing booked at 12:30 if that was okay. So, I pulled myself together and tidied up the house, hid most of Brock's toys & left to go sleep at Shawna's apartment. I drifted off to sleep with dreams of closing dates running through my mind. Then at noon, Brock's school called to tell me that he "accidentally" got ahold of some cow's milk today at lunch. Not alot, they assured me, but he snuck a drink from one of his friends' cups! They just wanted to let me know so that I would know what was going on if he vomits tonight (keep the fingers crossed!). Then, at 2pm our realtor calls me again to say that there is somebody else that wants to look at the house between 4-5pm! Woo-hoo! 2 viewings in one day! Hopefully we will hear some news soon because Greg drove around Oak Grove tonight before he left looking at houses and he found a couple that he says are really nice! As soon as we hear something we will let everybody know!

House renovations

For the past few weeks we have been finishing up the last minute projects that we needed to get done so that we could list our house. And, I'm excited to say that we (mostly Greg) got everything finished and the realtor came by last night to take pictures of the house to list on his website! Here are the pictures I took:

I know this doesn't look like much but it is an enclosure that Greg built around the air vent for the heating and air conditioning unit. Behind it is the giant silver air duct.
When Greg put up our beautiful slate backsplash in the kitchen, he didn't "have time" to put the socket and switch covers back on. Several months later . . .

We took down the wallpaper border in Brock's room, repainted the walls and his name letters and we hung a cute coat rack. We also put in an extra shelf and rod in his closet.

Greg is less than thrilled that I took a picture of him packing away our china. But it was the first "official" box that was packed up--of course I had to document that!

Baby G's room is officially finished! Everything is painted and Greg built a bookshelf in the window (since it looks out over the garage). He was going to put the princess castle on the top but since we are trying to sell the house, we thought it would be best to do that in the new house.

The garage is actually (somewhat) cleaned out! You can almost park a car in there now!

There were so many other things that we did but really, unless you have the before & after shots you wouldn't appreciate it. Little things like new trim and new doorknobs do little to dazzle unless you can truly appreciate how hideous it looked before! If you want to see our house on the realtor's website, check it out:
