. . . but the baby is giving me heartburn so it is keeping me distracted! Or maybe it's all the pizza that I ate tonight that the hospital bought for us. Hmmm . . . I am going with the baby. Also, I am sad because I realized that I will be up for about 36 hours straight when I FINALLY get to go to sleep tomorrow (well, technically it would be today since it is after midnight).
Today was a fun day, though. We started out our Christmas celebration by going to my mom and dad's house for Christmas Eve breakfast and gifts. This year Brock is REALLY into opening gifts. Everybody's gifts. He only let two gifts escape him at Mom and Dad's and one was because he was going so SLOW with Mom's gift that Aunt Shawna opened one without him realizing it and the other was opened by Dad when Brock was looking out the front door at the dog. Distractions distractions. Then we went back to our house where Brock defiantly refused to take a nap. This really sucked for two reasons: 1) He was tired and cranky and had been up since 5:30am & 2) My plan was to nap while he was napping. He had other plans. Greg was busy making funnel cake.
Then my aunt Marlene and her daughter, Charlea stopped by with Charlea's daughter Peyton to bring Brock MORE gifts and we had a gift for Peyton. Everything was going pretty well until Peyton pooped and I offered to change her diaper. Brock was having none of this and cried the entire time that I was out of the room with another baby. Ahhhh . . . July will be so much fun once he realizes that THIS baby is not going away anytime soon!
After all the present/poop mayhem, Aunt Marlene, Charlea & Peyton left and I made an apple cake with a caramel glaze to bring into work tonight. FINALLY at 6:30pm Brock crashed and we didn't hear a peep out of him. Or at least I didn't because I went to work 1/2 hour later! But, I haven't gotten any text messages from Greg so I assume that everything is fine on the home front.
The only baby news this week is that I made an appointment with my new OB/GYN which I am relieved to have gotten done but am sad that I had to do. I go to see her in January for the first time and between now and then I am going to swipe a doppler from work and listen for the baby's heartbeat! I will keep everybody posted!
I PROMISE after Christmas is said and done and I have more than one day off in a row, I will be posting some pictures on here to accompany all of these lovely stories! Merry Christmas to everyone!
