New Year's Eve/Baby Week #11

First of all, I would like to acknowledge that I am slightly tardy in my post this week but on Sunday when I "officially" was 11 weeks, I felt like sleeping rather than blogging. Anyway, this week the baby is the size of a lime! How quickly we grew from a prune (yuck) to a lime (still yuck but the cute "yuck" face that Brock makes when he bites into a lemon!) The last couple of weeks have been pretty rough as far as morning sickness goes. One particular event involves me picking Brock up from Mom and Dad's house and I had to pull over the van on the way home so that I could puke on the side of the road. Very classy I know. But it was either that or puke IN my car and I don't think Greg would have appreciated that. At all.
Finally since the beginning of this week I have made it through hours at a time without tossing my cookies and even ::gasp:: feeling nauseated! Hip hip hooray! However, I don't plan on that vomit-free feeling being here for very long if this kiddo is anything like his/her big brother.
In other pregnancy news, I am officially showing to the point where people at work tonight were like, "Wow. From your profile I can really tell that you are pregnant." That ain't nothing, honey. Just wait until we are in mid-July and then talk to me about my baby bump.
Stay tuned to see what food the bambino will be next week! Also, I have my first appointment with my new doctor on January 15th so hopefully things will go well.
Now, back to New Year's Rockin Eve (with the co-hosts Greg and Brock!)

Here is the lead singer showcasing his wide variety of talents. Shakin' the rump and lead vocals are his speciality. Only 14 more years until he can audition for American Idol!

Side note: Check out Brock's ears. Uh-oh. I think he got those from me. Maybe he will grow his hair our to cover them like I do.

The band. They are so serious & focused on their craft.

Okay, maybe not totally serious. But they are in a band for gosh sake.

I guess I should explain a little more. . . Greg bought Guitar Hero and decided that he wanted to spend New Year's Eve playing it. Who better than to play against and therefore claim all bragging rights at future family gatherings? His cousin Luke, of course. So we made the 1 hour & 15 minute trek to Greg's aunt and uncle's house where I had the pleasure of watching my son, my husband, and his cousin "rock out" ::insert snicker here:: to a variety of classic and current rock songs. Brock crashed first and I wasn't too far behind him. Greg, Luke, Aunt Donna and Uncle Mark stayed up until well after the ball dropped. Brock and I joined them briefly around 2:00am and then we all went to bed. Brock woke us up at 6:00am ready to eat and play. Hooray for our built-in alarm clock! Happy New Year!

Hey, what are you doing comparing my granddaughter to a prune then a lime?!?!? I am sure she is precious just like her brother.
Great starting of a band. You will have to get Brock a left handed guitar. I think he is taking after Grandpa Jimmy and Auntie Shawna, very lefty so far. Thanks for keeping us up to date.
Love,
Nana

This was SO fun! Greg needs to bring his toys and come play with the boys again soon. :)
