Tuesday I went for my 29 week check-up and here's what I did:
-peed in a cup (everything looks good)
-got vitals checked (bp: 126/70, hr: 78)
-got weighed (I told the nurse that I despise their scale because it consistently weighs me 5ish pounds heavier than at home. Even with the same clothes on. She laughed. I did not.)
-found out the actual numbers from the last blood draw
*gestational diabetes: 84 (anything below 140 is good)
*slightly anemic (hematocrit = 34) but just borderline low and she said that they expect it to be slightly lower in pregnant women anyway
-measured my fundal height: 30 weeks (perhaps the growth spurt has slowed down slightly)
-heard baby G's heartbeat (138 which she assures me is normal even though it seems to be getting slower)
-had to scold baby G when she kicked the heartbeat monitor the first 4 times the doc put it on my belly! I think she thought it was her brother! I need to stock up on sibling rivalvary books!
-found out I will get my group B-strep test at 37 weeks
-she assured me that I won't need a RhoGham shot because I'm O+ so my body will not recognize the baby's blood as foreign (no matter what type she is)
-I found out that she doesn't do internals until 38 weeks unless I'm contracting consistently. Which is good and bad. Good because there not comfortable and if I knew that I was dilated to 2cm at 36 weeks, I might become slightly obsessive at 36weeks, 1 day. And, with Brock I delivered at 37.5 weeks, so I may never get an internal unless I'm in labor! Bad because I have an obsessive tendency with this type of thing and will obsess whether or not I know.
Other than that, I'll go back in 2 weeks unless there are any problems between now and then!
