32 weeks pregnant & weekend updates

How far along? 32 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: + 16lbs from pre-pregnancy
Maternity clothes? Yes
Stretch marks? Yes
Sleep: A distant memory
Best moment this week: I have a few this week:
*Finding out that our house was actually shown this week!
*Finding soy ice cream for Brock
Worst moment this week: Being told by a woman at work that I don't look pregnant at all! I just look "chubby". The worst part was she was proud of herself for thinking that I didn't look pregnant! What a hussy. That's right. I said hussy. Oh, and watching Brock have a meltdown on stage at his concert :(
Movement: Lots & lots & lots
Food cravings: Ice cream, but I have to eat it when Brock's not watching. And he's always watching . . .
Gender: Still a girl as far as we know
Labor Signs: None this week!
Belly Button in or out? Barely allowed to be called a belly button anymore. I looked in a mirror the other day at my bare belly and realized that my belly "button" is nearly flush with the rest of my belly. Now it just looks weird. Really really weird.
What I miss: My husband being able to be around for all the fun stuff.
What I am looking forward to: Finding out the results of Brock's blood test from a couple of weeks ago & getting some feedback about the house
Weekly Wisdom: Don't be discouraged if your children reject your advice. Years later they will offer it to their own offspring.
Milestones: Making it through another week in a healthy pregnancy & touring the L&D unit at the hospital
Technical baby news: Baby’s energy is surging, thanks to the formation of white fat deposits beneath the skin. (Have those kicks and jabs to the ribs tipped you off yet?) Baby is also settling into sleep and waking cycles, though -- as you’ve also probably noticed -- they don’t necessarily coincide with your own. Also this month, all five senses are finally functional, and the brain and nervous system are going through major developments.15.2-16.7 inches, 2.5-3.8 lbs. The website that I use says Baby G is a squash this month, but I'm pretty sure that this is a pumpkin!

Our weekend consisted of:
Friday:
*Shopped in the morning and bought Greg a few new shirts as well as bought Brock some new shorts (still in 12 months!)
*Took a nap in the afternoon
*Went to the Anchor Fest in Centralia where we ate too much & got Brock a balloon that he LOVES and was so pissed that I had to untie it from the stroller to put it in the van when we left

Saturday:
*Went to Brock's concert where he had a thermal nuclear meltdown on stage.

*At the last minute, Greg decided that he didn't want to go to his 10-year high school reunion and we ordered steaks from one of our favorite restaurants instead.
Sunday:
*Took Brock to the park
*picked up a few things at Wal-Mart & Sam's
*Toured the hospital where Baby G is going to be born

Just a quick update: We ended up in L&D tonight for about an hour because I had two severe contractions at home and I wanted to get checked out. Mom came over and watched Brock for us and Greg and I headed over to the hospital. Oddly enough, the same nurse that gave us our tour today was our nurse when we got there! They had me give them a urine sample (of course) and hooked me up to a monitor. Baby G and I are absolutely fine but they said it was good that we got checked out just in case. They did a test (I can't remember the name of it now) that was weird. The doc said that if the test came back negative it meant that they could say that there is a 99% chance that I will not go into labor within the next two weeks. However, if the test comes back positive, it is fairly inconclusive. Things that can make it test positive are: lubrication from the internal exam, having sex in the past couple of weeks, and many other things but these were the two things that seemed pretty ridiculous. So, they had to do this test first (before they did an internal exam) and they used a speculum. Without. Lubrication. Lemme tell you, that hurts. Bad. Thank goodness it was quick. Anyway, after that test was over they did an internal exam and said that I'm a fingertip dilated but that is pretty inconclusive as well because this is my second pregnancy and I could have been that dilated when I got pregnant with Baby G. However, the real reassurance came with the vaginal ultrasound that they did. It showed that my cervix is still thick and long (which is what we want at this point in pregnancy) and it was measuring 2.8cm which is perfect for 32 weeks. Also, during the ultrasound we were able to see (for sure not just based on external feel) that Baby G is head down and they said that it was likely if she is head down at 32 weeks, there is a pretty good chance that she will stay that way. Of course there is a chance that she could flip, but as big as she is getting, they would be surprised if she had any major movement between now and D-day. So, all good news there as well as the fact that I did not have any contractions while I was on the monitor while we were in the hospital. I did think it was pretty funny though because several times she would kick the fetal monitor. So, it's not just Dr. Winkleman's monitor that she doesn't like. Greg and I were talking about it and we think that Baby G thought the pressure from the monitor was her big brother sitting on her and that's why she was kicking so hard! Anyway, my next appointment with Dr. Winkleman is not for just over a week unless I start having problems before then. I don't anticipate any problems, I think we just had a very busy weekend and Baby G was a little irritable and wanted the world to know about it! Such a little diva already!

okay, so just a quick note. You are at the point in your pregnancy that I was with Peyton when she threw her fit and got me put on bedrest. Gotta love the Moore girls......

Anyway, great news that everything looks good, and healthy. Everyone is anxious to meet little girl but she needs to hang out for a couple more weeks!! :) Peyton was in a hurry about 32 weeks and then she decided that she didn't wanna come out so we had to evict her.

Anyway, we need to get together for a play date, ESP since little miss is walking now. Let me know a weekend or Wed that works for you and we can get something set up. Love ya!

That is too funny about Peyton & Baby G! Hmmm . . . I smell an uprising abrewing! I am feeling great today so I'm hoping that she was just mad about being busy this weekend and now she has settled down. So far, I haven't had any swelling or anything so I'm hoping we can avoid bedrest.
If you want to get the kids together this weekend, we could do something Sunday afternoon. I have a baby shower to go to on Saturday and I work Sunday night but not until 7:30. What do you think? When do you start at Rusk?

Sunday afternoon should be good. BUT it all depends on Zac. He isn't doing so well, we went over and seen him last night and the Hospice nurse said she would give him 24-72 hours, so........ but other than that sunday should be fine.

Well, I am glad I was home to take care of Brock!! He was an angel for me, even before he knew he was going to get Kiki!!
Glad things were ok, stressed me out a little bit. I really want to be able to hold and play with her but not just yet.
Love,
Nana and Papa
