Since I tend to thieve things that are awesome from the internet, I stole this idea from another blogger I
Enjoy.
1. What did you do in 2009 that you’d never done before?
Had our sweet baby girl, Adrianna Kinzie Stemme
2. Did you keep your New Year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I'm pretty sure that I didn't make any resolutions last year because I was newly pregnant and I had enough on my plate. This year I am resolving to loose weight (go here for the gory details of my plan), to pay off some debt and to complete some things on my 101 things in 2002 days list!
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Um, me! Also, my friend Kristina had Adrianna's boyfriend, Sullivan on March 1 (he was almost a leap-day baby!), a friend of mine at work had her little boy, Ashton, 8 weeks early and he is now growing like a little champ! Plus, all of my muumuu friends from thebump.com had their babies and they are all freaking georgous!
4. Did anyone close to you die?
Um, I honestly can't think of anybody. So if we were close and you died, sorry that I forgot to mention you here.
5. What would you like to have in 2010 that you lacked in 2009?
A normal work schedule & a maid
6. What countries did you visit?
Sadly, none.
7. What date from 2009 will remain etched upon your memory, and why:
July 23, 2009. Sweet baby bean's birthday.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Having Adrianna. Rinse. Repeat.
9. What was your biggest failure?
Forgetting to pay our bills one month. This is no joke. I almost ended up divorced over this one. Oh, and slacking big time on my book with my bestie. I'm totally making up for that one this year though.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Just a cold for the last 6 weeks of my pregnancy. Other than that, I've been pretty healthy!
11. What was the best thing you bought?
Um, groceries. Lame. I know.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Greg's in the delivery room. He did not freak out at all when Adrianna dropped her O2 sats and they threw oxygen on me, flipped me on my side, etc. Props to the hubs for keeping his cool.
Also, Brock every time he pees and poops in the big boy potty. Go little man!
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Nobody that I should mention.
Haha! Now you are all wondering if it is YOU! It's not. Trust me. ::wink wink::
14. Where did most of your money go?
On the kiddos. Lots of pink things are now in my house!
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Most of my pregnancy was pretty exciting!
16. What song will always remind you of 2009?
Skipping this one . . .
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? Happier.
ii. thinner or fatter? Thinner in relation to girth. But I haven't lost too much weight. Yet.
iii. richer or poorer? Richer. In many ways.
18. What do you wish you’d done more of?
Dates with Greg
19. What do you wish you’d done less of?
Worrying about SO MANY things while I was pregnant.
20. How will you be spending Christmas?
Ahem. I am behind. Christmas is over. But if you want to see pics of what we did, click here.
21. Did you fall in love in 2009?
With my sweet baby girl
22. How many one-night stands?
Um, none.
23. What was your favorite TV program?
Dexter, Desperate Housewives, Keeping up with the Kardashians, The Good Wife, Barney, Sesame Street
24. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?
Nope. Don't think so.
25. What was the best book you read?
I think I read Love the One Your With by Emily Giffin this year that my bestie gave me. Awesome author, but not her best work. I highly recommend Something Borrowed or Something Blue by her.
26. What was your greatest musical discovery?
The Curious George soundtrack by Jack Johnson. Brock knows one of the songs and it is phenomenal to listen to my 2.5 year old sing adult songs. He amazes me everyday.
27. What did you want and get?
A Dooney & Burke wallet & coinpurse from Greg for Christmas! And another beautiful baby. And lots of new friends.
28. What was your favorite film of this year?
The Hangover. Seriously. If you haven't seen this yet, run. Don't walk. Just be sure that you are not drinking anything at the time and go pee before you hit play. Trust me. And if you don't, ask Greg. I'll leave it up to your imagination about which one he experienced.
29. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
This year I turned 26 and I begged and pleaded with Baby girl to come out. Turns out, she is selfish and didn't want to share a birthday with her mama.
30. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
The only thing I can think of is a better work situation which has already resolved itself in 2010.
31. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2009?
"Hey, babe. Does this shirt have any spit-up on it? It does?! Shit. Does this jacket cover it up enough for me to pull it off?" I'm so classy.
32. What kept you sane?
Holding my sweet babies when they were asleep. My wonderful family & friends. The love of my awesome husband. Tough love counts, right?
33. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
I wouldn't say that there are any in particular that I fancy but I do love celebrity gossip and I'm addicted to People magazine.
34. What political issue stirred you the most?
The damn healthcare bill. I cannot even think about it without my blood boiling.
35. Whom did you miss?
Greg alot. Since he was in KC about 4/7 of the time.
36. Who was the best new person you met?
Sweet little miss Adrianna. Obviously.
37. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2009:
Don't rush a baby that is not quite ready to come out of the womb. She will just make you crazy with 3 weeks of false labor and will throw her first little temper tantrum when you break the warm, gooey water that is surrounding her. In short, the tinest person generally rules the roost.
